Clear pronunciation comes before speed
Fast speech is not automatically fluent speech. Listeners need clear stressed syllables, useful pauses and recognisable word endings.
Hear the stressed syllable
Listen once for meaning and again for stress. Mark the strongest syllable before repeating the whole word.
Keep important endings
Past -ed, plural -s and third-person -s often carry grammar information. Do not drop them when you increase speed.
She works weekends, but she worked yesterday.
Practise thought groups
Divide a long sentence into meaningful chunks. A small pause between ideas is clearer than forcing every word into one breath.
Record short loops
Repeat one sentence three times: slowly, naturally and inside a response. Compare clarity rather than chasing a perfect accent.
Test with a new sentence
Move the same sound or stress pattern into unfamiliar words. This checks whether you learned a transferable pattern rather than one recording.
